See & Do

You’ll always feel right at home in St. Joseph, Missouri

Wyeth-Tootle Mansion

St. Joseph is known for its quantity of beautiful mansions built around the turn of the century, and the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion at the corner of Eleventh and Charles Streets is a prime example. This 1879 Gothic sandstone mansion illustrates the cultural, architectural, and economic history of 19th century St. Joseph.

The first floor highlights the Wyeth's original Early American Dining Room furnishings from the 1880's. The second floor features a restored Victorian bedroom exhibit as well as exhibits on the Civil War in St. Joseph and the life and death of Jesse James. The third floor contains exhibits on the natural history of the area. Because of its age and historic nature, the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion has limited handicap accessibility.

Hours

Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday by appointment only for groups of 20 or more.  The Mansion will open for the season on Saturday, April 16th and close October 29th, 2011, except for special events. Closed on major holidays.
